Bing Xiong

Asked to sum up her personality, Bing Xiong is straightforward: “Optimistic. It is always inside of me and part of everything I do.” Born and raised in Nanyang, Henan Province, China, 32-year-old Xiong considers fashion to be a bespoke medium to bring her dreams alive. Whether through a cute cut or a dynamic use of materials, she is not shy about revealing the full extent of Bing’s World in her wistful design narrative.

The buoyant spirit of Xiong is interconnected with her visual ethos. “My design philosophy is playful, enjoyable and meaningful,” she says. But beyond the dream world, the designer hopes to inspire her audience as to the importance of sustainability: “I hope that I can remind people that by protecting the environment, they protect themselves.” The starting point for the collection came from her father, an architect and real estate businessman, she says. Xiong was deeply inspired by his contributions to protecting people and the environment with his architecture. Her mission is to create garments that remind people about the reality of global warming.
